The government will soon release draft legislation to loosen the GE laws here in Aotearoa. This could allow GE crops and products to enter our fields without sufficient testing, risking farmer livelihoods and consumer rights.
We’ll update our website and get the word out on social media as soon as we know more. We will make a submission on behalf of members and will also encourage members and supporters to write an individual submission.
Organics Aotearoa New Zealand (OANZ), of which Soil & Health is a member, has launched a nationwide campaign to stand up for farmers, protect consumers, and inform Kiwis of the critical risks posed by GE deregulation.
